Panorama of Kranjska Gora
J. Skok

Kranjska Gora is a beautiful alpine village situated in the extreme north-western part of Slovenia, only 4km from the Italian border and 5km from the Austrian border, in the foothills of the Julian Alps. In summer Kranjska Gora is a wonderful base for walking, climbing and cycling holidays into the Julian Alps. In winter Kranjska Gora is one of Slovenia's leading ski resorts.

For the ski spectator, each year the mountains around Kranjska Gora host the Alpine Ski World Cup and the Ski-Flying Championships, please check ski press for dates.

How To Get There

Map of Slovenia

One of the many things that attracted us to Kranjska Gora was the ease of travelling. The drive from the airport only takes 55 mins and it is a flat road through the valley, no s-bend mountain passes! As you get closer to Kranjska Gora the scenery on both sides of the road becomes more dramatically beautiful. All roads in Slovenia are clearly marked and the route is very direct and made up of major roads all the way from the airport into the village.

The map above isn't very clear so if you would like a more detailed map please select the option below which will take you to another mapping website which will allow you to zoom in and out.
